About Big Sky Workshop

Big Sky Workshop is an art education platform rooted in New York City and thriving online. Founded by artist and educator Kerry da Silva Cox in 2020, Big Sky offers thoughtfully designed courses, consulting sessions (Office Hours) , and creative resources that support artists across evolving stages of practice, on their own terms.

Our programs aim to connect personal well-being with artistic practice, nurturing sustainable creativity through both structured learning and individualized support. In addition to online programming, Big Sky hosts summer family art initiatives in the Queensbridge Houses community. We focus on the “big picture” of creative life, supporting exploration, skill-building, and the practical realities that sustain a lasting artistic practice.

About Our Founder

Kerry da Silva Cox is an artist, educator, and organizer based in New York City. Her work spans studio practice, arts education, cultural administration, and artist representation, with nearly two decades of experience supporting artists, programs, and institutions through both creative and operational work. Beginning her career as an agent in her early twenties, Kerry has coordinated programs, managed logistics, and built systems that allow creative projects to move from idea to execution.

Kerry holds an MFA in Visual Art and an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art, Criticism, and Theory, and is currently pursuing a J.D. at CUNY Law. She is the founder of Big Sky Workshop and co-founder of Art Club 3000. Across her work, Kerry is interested in the intersection of creativity, structure, and care, particularly how artists sustain their practices over time within real-world constraints.
